As Seen by the Braun
Memphis TN
I have such a soft spot for toy cameras. They are fun to shoot. The results are a crapshoot. The look you just can’t get from modern cameras. Last fall I came across the most sketchy looking antique shop. It was so sketchy I called home to leave a message on the location of where they could find the body or at least some evidence if I wasn’t home by a certain time. In this quaint little shop stuffed to the ceiling with randomosity and all things old and delightful was a Braun Paxette Super II – owned by one E.M. Arnold of High River, Alberta as written on the case. I have fallen in love with this $25 camera.
I shot one roll of HP5 on Beale Street in Memphis. Developed and scanned at home. Enjoy.
These are SO wonderful! If you told me they were taken 80 years ago I’d believe you! I’m going to go find a funky old camera now too! Thanks for sharing! :-)
Wow! Love this! My husband and I love to do the same as you. :) Our favorite find so far was an Anscomark-M rangefinder. Fun fun!! The pictures you got are amazing!!
Monochrome awesomeness.
Yep, still one of my favorite Canadians.
