A Bow Valley Wandering
Canmore to Banff
I sat down to work. Computer was ready, my cup of tea ready. I apparently was not. I looked outside, the light fading, the early spring threatening to leave with tomorrow’s snow. I grabbed the dog and my camera and set out.
So unsuccessful and oh so wonderful. First, my car, upon climbing some mountain roads began sounding awfully sad and smelling a bit funny. A bit funny meaning I stopped the car, put my nose to the hood, marveled at the lovely reflection of the trees, and took a photograph. Minor car worries however were not going to stop my wanderings. I turned around and decided to take a route with more cars and more accessible to a tow truck. The light on the peaks were slowly shifting towards Banff so off I went chasing it.
My window down, my already mess of hair flying in my face, music mixing with the sound of the cool air rushing through my car. My dog sleeping by my side. I have the tendencies of a child and threw my arm out the window, feeling it through my fingers. The light was filtering through the clouds, and yet I was no where near a pull off. I reached my destination. The light had shifted back to Canmore. Defeat but still happy.
I’ll rate this wandering a 1/10. I can hardly wait for the rest I shall have this year. Now back to my cold tea.
