2013 So Far
An iPhone-ocumentary
Alrighty. This is not going to be the cleanest post ever. This morning I was going back through my instagram feed and enjoying the refresher of my year, the moments, the laughs. I decided to share that with you all. I left them in their square formats hence the weird spacing. Here we are.
I moved to Canmore at the beginning of the year. A gradual move. But something I cannot get over is the beauty of the area. The visible change in seasons and weather. I so enjoy taking my dog for a walk each day exploring new paths and trails.
There have been travels. I visited Sam in Texas. I went to a wedding in Arizona. I went to New York with my father. Below is the single image I took there. It was a trip that I will always remember with fondness and sadness. Fondness as we spent two days exploring bits of New York, talking to each other, talking to other people. We wandered together – a trait I got from him. Sadness as we went to see a doctor. The diagnosis was as I suspected. My 56 year old father, a brilliant man, has a fast progressing dementia. So began a new part of my life that I will surely be talking about more on this blog.
If you have known me for a while you will know I do not excel in the kitchen. Or so I thought. Since moving I have discovered my love for making jams and baking. A dark chocolate cake Sam asked for on Valentine’s day, some strawberry jam, a coconut lime pie.
Schroeder is a staple in my life. He is my perpetual sidekick. He’s a funny little epileptic miniature schnauzer that prefers to sleep all day. Although he is always up for some exploring, as long as their are muddy puddles to go through. Which generally leads to a bath, in which he definitely looks like Obi-Wan Kenobi.
I bought a bike.
I bought some antiques. The hair dryer you see there is currently becoming a floor lamp.
Below is my favourite part of this year. Sam came up to Canmore to visit me for three weeks. This is what we did.
My condo not only has decent views but a hockey stick that holds the garbage open. Brilliant.
My mother bought me an orchid. I named it Marcie. I kill all plants. Good luck Marcie.
This is starting to become a habit. I may create a series.
And that’s that.
I recently killed an orchid as well. Wonderfully complicated and beautiful plants. And dead. Dead plants. Whoops.
this is a beautifully quiet and intimate post
Lovely! Are you on Instagram? I would love to follow you! P.S. love the idea for the new series :)
